Tunnel – Wakeup Configuration Parameter: “WAKEUP_”

¿Buscas alguna otra cosa?

The previous MTX-Tunnel V5 version could only be used for GPRS-serial tunnel Gateway in the following ways:

  • 100% active after modem power-up
  • X minutes active upon demand, after receiving an SMS with special text string “mtxtunnel on” or when receiving a missed call from an authorized configured phone number

From version 5.0 more features have been added to activate MTX-Tunnel gateway

  • MTX-Tunnel GPRS-serial gateway is active X minutes after a digital input change
  • MTX-Tunnel GPRS-serial gateway is active X minutes after an out of configured limits analog input is detected
  • MTX-Tunnel GPRS-serial gateway is active X minutes after a configured time alarm. 10 alarm times can be configured

From version 5.0 all tunnelling modes (client or server) can be activated on any of the above triggers. In previous versions, it was only possible to have a client mode tunnel (MTX_mode: client) with a permanent connection.

The next pages detail the configuration parameter related to MTX-Tunnel timing or input activation.

WAKEUP_gpioEnabled

Description: by enabling this parameter, MTX-Tunnel will activate the 2G/3G/4G connection when there is a digital input change during the configured time. Before this logic level change, the 2G/3G/4G-serial tunnel is not active.

Remember: MTX-Tunnel can also activate the GPRS connection with a special SMS or missed call, both from authorized phone numbers.

Possible values:

  • on, off
  • Default value: off

Additional notes:

  • Each platform type has its own wakeup input.
  • If the wakeup input changes, MTX-Tunnel activates the GPRS connection but it will be closed after the time specified in the configuration value GPRS_timeout when there is no serial or GPRS traffic data

WAKEUP_gpioValue

Description: This value sets the trigger level of the digital input to create 2G/3G/4G tunnel.

Possible values:

  • 0, 1, 2
  • Default value: 0

Additional notes:

  • Changes in the digital input level will trigger a GPRS connection
  • As an example, if WAKEUP_gpioValue is “1”, the digital input has to change from “0” to “1” to activate the 2G/3G/4G connection
  • WAKEUP_gpio Value “2” means every change, from “0” to “1” and vice versa, activates a 2G/3G/4G session

WAKEUP_adcEnabled

Description: if this parameter is enabled, MTX-Tunnel will activate 2G/3G/4G when the analog input level changes.

Remember MTX-Tunnel can also activate a 2G/3G/4G connection with a special SMS or missed call, both from authorized phone numbers, or other wakeup ways described in this chapter.

Possible values:

  • on, off
  • Default value: off

Additional notes:

  • All MTX-Terminals modems feature ADC1 as an analog wake-up input
  • If the wake-up analog input level changes, MTX-Tunnel will activate the 2G/3G/4G connection, but closes it after reaching the GPRS_timeout time configuration value when there is no serial or GPRS traffic data
  • Analog input level trigger parameters are WAKEUP_adcValueMin and WAKEUP_adcValueMax.

WAKEUP_adcValueMin

Description: This specifies the minimum value in the ADC1 input. 2G/3G/4G will be activated when values are below this limit.

Possible values:

  • 0… 50000 (mV)
  • Default value: 0

Additional notes:

  • MTX-Tunnel does not take into account the connection time value stored in the GPRS_timeout parameter. The 2G/3G/4G connection will be active if the ADC1 value is below that set in this parameter

WAKEUP_adcValueMax

Description: this specifies the maximum value in the ADC1 input. 2G/3G/4G will be activated when values are above this limit.

Possible values:

  • 0… 2400 (mV)
  • Default value: 2400

Additional notes:

  • MTX-Tunnel does not take into account the connection time value stored in the GPRS_timeout parameter.

WAKEUP_timeEnabled

Description: 2G/3G/4G connections (Serial-GPRS tunnel, WebServer, Telnet services) can be based on time programming. You can specify a total of 10 different timing values.

Possible values:

  • on, off
  • Default value: off

Additional notes:

  • When the time condition is fulfilled, the 2G/3G/4G link is established and remains connected for the period specified in GPRS_timeout, except for when the 2G/3G/4G or serial data traffic is active or any other wakeup condition is active
  • It is mandatory to use a time server (for internal RTC Synchronization). Please check the MTX_TPServer parameter for more information
  • Internal modem timing is UTC (Universal Time Clock). Check the time difference in your country and check if the season affects the hour too. Spain is UTC+1 except in summer when it is UTC+2, so for example 09.00 UTC in July is 11.00 local time

WAKEUP_time1, WAKEUP_time2, WAKEUP_time10

Description: these parameters are used to declare the 10 different alarm triggers to activate 2G/3G/4GTunnel and all associated services: serial tunnel, WebServer, Telnet…

Possible values:

  • DDHHMM (DD day, HH hour in 24h format and MM minutes)
  • Default value: none

Additional notes:

  • DD and HH can take a value of XX. This means no day/time will be used in the timer
  • Example 1:
    WAKEUP_time1: 012200
(GPRS connection will be activated every 01 (1st) day of the month, at 22.00 h.)
  • Example 2:
    WAKEUP_time1: 011030
    WAKEUP_time2: 151030
(GPRS connection will be activated every 1st and 15th day of month, both at 10:30 h)
  • Example 3:
    WAKEUP_time1: XX1800
(GPRS connection will be activated every day of the month, at 18:00 h)
  • Example 4:
    WAKEUP_time1: XX0200
    WAKEUP_time2: XX1400
(GPRS connection will be activated every day of the month at 02:00 and at 14:00 h)
  • Example 5:
    WAKEUP_time1: XXXX00
(GPRS connection will be activated every day of the month, every hour on the hour)
  • Modem timing format is UTC
